NEW

The challenge, lately, is to come up with 12 new Wild Women Designs every year for the yearly Calendars. These are some of those and my new favorites! The Good news is...I did 11 new sketches last month for next years calendar, already! These designs...will be my best ever and will be featured here as soon as they are painted! (after Christmas sometime!) Wild Women everywhere, doing everything!

WILD AT HEART

The heart is...at times big and bright, at other times made of string and playdough and other silly things. It is that which we seek in wonder, tug in desire and inflate with dreams, scribble with hope and imagine with faith in its' falling apart, in its' coming together, in its' ruin and it's flight we heal and trust the hearts' ability to return to being wild and free, sometimes...no matter what.

WILD WOMEN

Girls at any age seeking to live with volume & verve, to be outrageous & off-key, mismatched & mischievous, Are you a Wild one? The original Wild Woman creations were painted with acrylics on a handmade tissue paper from Thailand. This paper includes dried various banana leaves. An excellent background for my love of bold colors.

WHIMSICAL SOUTHWEST

Inspired by the ancient rock art of the petroglyphs, Glyphies were created in a contemporary Southwest style. Whimsical in nature, with a simple message... to celebrate our humanity. Glyphies will brighten any space. Original are acrylic paints on handmade paper.

MAGNETIC WOMEN

I believe in super heros and never being too old to put on a batman cape, I believe in red radio flyers down a grassy hill, and swinging, toes to the sky. I believe in the smell of crayons and the wisdom of children's books. I believe in the hearts ability to break open and return to itself...super sized. I believe in good good friends for playful gatherings, I believe in flowers that grow despite chewing bunnies, skies that never end and moons that are always full. Rivers that teach and oceans that pull, drums that beat my heart out loud, beauty that takes my breath all this, for a life lived large and loud, bold and breathless, sweet and still.

THE ART OF ATTITUDE

Turning 40 changes things... not only could I not see at a distance, I blurred at anything too close. With a new midrange sight, my art moved from the sentimental to the smirky. ~ the art of attitude. Collage style of watercolor, tissue paper, acrylics, computer graphics and crayolas, the message is sassy & simple, "we're getting older ... let's get on with it"... And laugh more along the way.

BRAT CATS

Our "Brat Cats"... gotta love them... they do whatever they want, whenever they want without apology or excuse, AND they have an arrogant confidence to expect that ... regardless of their bad behavior, we'll adore them, pamper them, and cherish them a lifetime... Aren't they smart!

WHEN I WAS A PUPPY

After a lifetime in the "cat only" world ... a puppy landed in my lap ... certain she came from heaven.
I rediscovered my heart! And realized I needed little more than poetry, good friends and good books ... and to be held by a puppies adoring eyes!

Who Am I? I am a teacher and an Artist by degree & by nature. I am a journal keeper committed to recording my celebrations, my struggles, my loves & losses- It's the air I breathe. May it give you wings!

COMMISSIONS
